Farley Mowat's most popular books for children are probably "Owls in the Family" and "The Dog Who Wouldn't Be" which are both very funny and semi-autobiographical, but there is something really wonderful about these action stories in the northern landscape that really appealed to me. I remember being assigned "Lost in the Barrens" in Grade Seven (age 12) and it started me on a Farley Mowat kick.Lee-Annehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04270201592696284797noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1092941621582901334.post-5798093327253099052013-10-20T03:28:43.400-06:002013-10-20T03:28:43.400-06:00I enjoyed both of these as well and found them gre...I enjoyed both of these as well and found them great exciting read-alouds for both my boys. I'm not sure I would have heard about it otherwise. I love books about cultures clashing and characters moving away from conventional society, and this one sounds great. I'll let you know what I think!Lucyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15103141646225036708noreply@blogger.com
